60th Anniversary of the Korean War The Forgotten War
American Legion Post #10 will hold a public celebration of the cease fire agreement that ended the Korean War 60 years ago. The event will be Thursday, October 18, at the post home located at 702 Pine Grove Drive.
The general public is encouraged to attend and honor the remaining Korean War veterans that are still with us. The legion's committee is working to make this a very informative gathering and a fun time with a dance to follow the program. |
Doors will open at 5:30 pm. H'ors douevres will be served and the program will start at 6:30 pm. There will be a panel of those that participated in the major battles of the Korean war: Pusan Perimeter, Incheon Landing, Liberation of Seoul, Task Force Smith and the Chosin Reservoir.
Commander Hartley invites everyone to attend and salute the veterans that served during the Korean War. If you know a Korean War Veteran, please inform them of this event and assist them if needed to ensure they attend. For more info contact Commander Hartley (910-616-7163) or Committee Chairman Harold Davis 910-791-2333. |
